　　疫情当前，体育行业遭受到的冲击是史无前例的：竞技赛事被迫延迟或取消，场馆健身业难以为继，体育教育行业被迫线上进行。在只能宅家的情况下，我们能进行体育活动的机会实在是少之又少，而乒乓，以其轻巧和便捷，成为了宅家运动的不二选择。一张桌子、一块板子，甚至只需要一堵墙，我们就可以开展这项运动。在这个特殊的情境下，我们和乒乓之间的联系无形中变得更加紧密。今天，就让我们走入乒乓球的世界，看看中外体育人文交流专业的同学们需要了解的关于乒乓的那些事。

　　乒乓球比赛由两人或四人参加，比赛时球员用乒乓球拍来回击打和推送一个质量很轻的球。

　　It’s a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight ball back and forth using a table tennis bat.

　　比赛的场地是一张硬桌，桌面中间被一道网隔开。

　　The game takes place on a hard table divided by a net.

　　除了发球之外，球员只能让打向自己的球在球桌这边弹跳一次，然后必须将球打还给对方。根据相关的规则，如果球员没有成功将球打回给对方，那么就会算对方得分。

　　Except for initial serve, players must allow a ball played toward them only one bounce on their side of the table and must return it so that it bounces on the opposite side.

　　乒乓球的握拍方式有直板握拍和横版握拍两种。

　　The pat can be divided into two categories which are pen-hold grip and handshake grip.

　　乒乓球的基本技术包括握拍、发球、接球、推球、挡球、攻球、旋转球等。

　　The basic skills in playing table tennis included grip, serve, receive, push, block, attack, spin, etc.

　　国际乒乓球联合会，简称国际乒联，创立于1926年。它是一个全球性的乒乓球管理机构，运作乒乓球赛事的国际排名体系，同时还负责组织诸如世界乒乓球锦标赛之类的赛事。

　　Founded in 1962, the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) is the worldwide governing body for table tennis, which maintains an international ranking system in addition to organizing events like the World Table Tennis Championships.

　　1988年，乒乓首次成为奥运会大项，下设几个小项。从1988年到2004年，分别有男子单打、女子单打、男子双打和女子双打。2008年，团体比赛正式取代了男女双打。

　　Table Tennis has been an Olympic sport since 1988, with several events categories. From 1988 until 2004, these were men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles and women’s doubles. Since 2008, a team event has been played instead of the doubles.
